Visual communication in Chicago

Thanks to technology, communication between individuals has become simple and instant but it got me thinking - how else can you send a message without actually saying it verbally or displaying it through technology?

I spent a few hours walking around Chicago trying to find these different forms and managed to come across these few examples...
Stickers on a road sign as a way to brand yourself. Cmon, who hasn't done this?
Using stickers for a different purpose.  What a difference one letter can make
Layering of Images.  Can anyone guess what the first letter was?
Adding dye to water.  Green water = St.Patty's in Chicago!
Food and politics, what's not to love?.  Rahm riding a hot dog
Chalk on a tree planter.  Religion - Always a sensitive subject
Using markers to add humor.  Falling Mice, how dangerous!
Symbols.  I think it's pretty clear what goes on here
Symbols and text.  What great advice
Mixing art with ads.  I like the question.
